SAFETY AND CONDITIONS

As participant, you have confirmed that you are aware of the world situation around COVID-19. And you will take the needed precautions. Follow and respect the crew given race-advised measures on race day. These measures can include wearing a mask at certain times (in case a mask shall be provided), running with distance to other runners, no high-5 or contact by hand with other runners and group gatherings.

These terms and measures will be revised to fit the situation, at the given time of race day in December, due to the valid guidance from both WHO, ZAAA* and The Ministry of Health, Zanzibar.

Prior to race day a short health questionnaire is obligated to go through when you collect your race kit. This will most likely include a temperature measurement and is obligatory.

The race has a time limit of 3 hours to complete. The race course will be open and partly secured within that time frame. The race course will be manned with police and volunteers showing you the way and directing traffic away from the course. The roads are not closed for traffic and will not be 100% free of traffic.

Please note that we will work hard to shield the race from traffic, people, animals etc. Zanzibaris are, however, not accustomed to seeing runners in the streets to the same extent as Western countries, so all runners must remain alert.

We highly recommend that you do not listen to music/radio etc. during the race as it might compromise your own, and other’s safety.
